What is a CCRC?
A continuing care retirement community (CCRC) provides seniors age 62 and over with:

  • The privacy of an apartment or cottage home and the companionship of community life
  • A wide range of helpful services, such as housekeeping, transportation, and home maintenance
  • A variety of amenities, such as a fitness center, recreational areas, and multiple dining venues
  • A full calendar of engaging activities
  • A continuum of on-site health care that may include rehabilitation, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing services

Four Seasons offers a range of residence choices, including spacious one- and two-bedroom apartments. Residents also enjoy an equipped exercise area, a library, a variety of fine and casual dining options in the garden dining room, a full continuum of on-site health care (including assisted living, memory care, physical therapy, and skilled nursing), and much more.

Why move to a CCRC like Four Seasons?
Most CCRC residents cite the following key reasons for making the decision to move to a CCRC:

  • Freedom from interior and exterior home maintenance
  • A lifestyle rich with cultural, social, spiritual, educational, and physical opportunities
  • 24 hour staffing
  • The ability to make choices for the future now (without needing to rely on children or other family to make those choices for you later)
  • Social connection and companionship
  • Future health care options, if needed
  • Emergency response

Residents of Four Seasons enjoy all of these benefits of CCRC living, along with attractive apartments and a picturesque campus.

Who owns Four Seasons?
Unlike some CCRCs, which are owned by investors and managed by other companies, Four Seasons is sponsored and managed by BHI Retirement Communities.  Originally founded as an orphanage over 100 years ago, BHI has provided quality senior living and health care in Indiana since 1952.

As a financially secure, faith-based, non-profit organization, BHI’s financial goals are not driven by the need to return profits to investors. Instead, we seek to make continuous improvements to the programs, living environments, and services we provide to our residents.

What are the benefits of Four Seasons' on-site healthcare continuum?
While many people may never use the full continuum of care provided on Four Seasons' campus, the peace of mind that comes from knowing that services are available allows them to put their worries aside and truly enjoy life.

Health care services that make life easier here include access and transportation to physicians’ offices, temporary rehabilitation, assisted living services, and the ability for one spouse to reside in a higher care setting (such as skilled nursing care or memory care including physical, speech, and occupational therapies) while the other spouse lives close by in the independent living setting.

Why is the location and setting of a CCRC like Four Seasons important?
Four Seasons offers a full-service retirement lifestyle right on our charming Columbus, Indiana, campus. We know, however, that our residents appreciate having convenient access to the greater community amenities of the Columbus area such as cultural, recreational, spiritual, and retail offerings. Additionally, we understand that many people choose a location to spend their retirement years based on their desire to maintain close ties with family and friends.

Residents can enjoy both the beauty of the area's renowned architecture and natural landscape, including nearby walking trails, as well as the convenience of local shopping, restaurants, movie theaters, golf courses, medical facilities, and all the other services and attractions of the Columbus area.

Columbus, Indiana, is also ideally situated a short distance south of the Indianapolis area and the city's numerous cultural and recreational opportunities, plus a brief, picturesque drive east of scenic Brown County, Indiana.
